Geographer to the King, Jean Baptiste Nolan, communicated his ideas on this planisphere to the painter Nicolas François Bocquet, who created the fantastically ornate engravings of Biblical story cartouches along the borders. It was originally published in Paris in 1708 at Chez l’auteur. In French.
